The day grew fairly warm, but dank. Around mid day I saw a song sparrow, a house finch, chickadees and a Carolina wren on the suet. Later a downy woodpecker showed up. Then, like an escaping spot of sunshine, there appeared a female Baltimore oriole. I scrambled to put some jelly out, but the photos show the oriole eating a berry, probably a beautyberry.A pair of buffleheads flew downstream, him flashing white wings.
