Out on the creek, two pair of hooded mergansers fished. A couple of gulls swooped over them looking for an opportunity to steal lunch. Meanwhile squirrels frolicked on the grass. Suddenly a hawk sailed through, turning sideways to slip through the trees. One squirrel froze on the tree trunk but I think the hawk may have been after a bird. The afternoon got progressively darker and rain began around sunset, not that we could see the sun set.
