I left before dawn and saw sunrise from the HRBT. And I got home just before sunset. In between, was a meeting in Fredricksburg where the sun was muted by a milky glaze of cloud. GPS misdirected us to the ruins of the convention hotel's former site. The posts that had supported a highway-visible sign were empty and draped in vines. Beneath was a handicap symbol stencilled on the remaining asphalt. On the way home I noticed the fall-blooming prairie wildflowers that colonized the roadsides. But the only wildlife I saw was pigeons on a wire.Since 1/1/11 I have been describing what I see in the back yard. I occasionally digress.

Autumn equinox
I left before dawn and saw sunrise from the HRBT. And I got home just before sunset. In between, was a meeting in Fredricksburg where the sun was muted by a milky glaze of cloud. GPS misdirected us to the ruins of the convention hotel's former site. The posts that had supported a highway-visible sign were empty and draped in vines. Beneath was a handicap symbol stencilled on the remaining asphalt. On the way home I noticed the fall-blooming prairie wildflowers that colonized the roadsides. But the only wildlife I saw was pigeons on a wire.
