The wind grounded many birds but a pine warbler was up for suet at breakfast. A blue jay noticed when I put out fresh bark butter balls. A white throated sparrow foraged through the mulch. One turtle braved the cold to enjoy the sun.
At lunch time, a great blue heron was very wind-ruffled. A male red bellied woodpecker lunched on suet. The downy woodpeckers got their share. A squirrel turned acrobat to munch on hackberries. Several birds flitted through the trees' remaining leaves, but I couldn't identify them. The Southwest wind drove the tide very low.
