Warmer

After another cold night, this day warmed into the 50s, and clouded over in the afternoon.  The yellow cat was on the prowl.  A white breasted nuthatch tried to get the last of the seeds just before K refilled the feeder.  A pine warbler worked on the remains of the suet.  Another rejoiced in the refilled barkbutter dish.  Soon the blue jays took that over.  A mockingbird joined them and then the female red bellied woodpecker.  White throats stayed on terra firma.  The female pileated got most of the suet.

The barkbutter balls were gone by lunch so the mockingbird came to the window to complain. And pooped on the table outside!  Two female orioles argued over the jelly.  Hoodies and buffleheads fished on the creek.  A great blue heron observed from a dock piling.  Cormorants commuted homeward.  Two egrets landed in the bushes downstream.  I replaced the suet and the barkbutter balls so they'd be ready for breakfast.
