Rain

The overnight rain filled the birdbath but stopped before we go up.  It began again at breakfast and continued until late morning.  The light was too low for good photography.  The dredge continued working its way upstream.  The egrets have become blase about the dredge.  The downy woodpecker was back for sunflower seeds.  Titmice fussed at each other but were chased off the feeder by other birds.  A catbird visited but stuck to dark corners of the yard.

An egret stalked upstream just before lunch.  After lunch, the sky looked like imminent rain.
