The temperature dropped throughout the day while gust of wind splashed the rain on the windows. There wasn't enough light for the camera to be happy. The red bellied woodpecker female was back. Lots of house finches annoyed the yellow rumped warbler. It tried to chase off the titmice instead. Downy woodpeckers also ignored the warbler. A couple of cardinals had an aerial battle. I saw no chickadees. A lone male bufflehead pased by on the creek.
The birds were lively at lunch, bit the windows were too streaked for photography. Sparrows, juncos, and doves foraged on the ground. The butterbutt tried to defend the suet with little success. Even the titmice ignored it, and the Carolina wrens shouldered it aside. Downy woodpeckers were back as well.
Hoodies were out on the creek in the middle of the afternoon.
