An egret patrolled the dam outfall and a bufflehead pair bathed in the creek by our house. Two male house finches got territorial over the feeder and rose battling in the air. This one was the winner. A male cardinal acted very nervous. The downy pair breakfasted on suet.
Rain started around 11am, but didn't amount to anything. The tide was out. The two male cardinals had another standoff. Meanwhile a female tripped the feeder closed.
Around 2pm there were blue streaks and intermittent sun. The temperature climbed into the 80s and it was sticky. It set a record for April 1st.
Pollen began to gild every surface.
