The temperature had dropped overnight and rain began to fall after 8am. I saw an egret and a cormorant on the creek and a downy and a titmouse on the feeders. The window glass was streaky with rain.
The rain let up for a while after lunch and became intermittent. A pair of buffleheads fished.
Around 6pm, the sky began to clear. The feral cat hunkered down as though watching a mouse hole. Sunset was gold. A pair of cardinals came for bedtime snacks and a white throated sparrow scurried through the mulch in the twilight.
I saw Jupiter rising in the East as I bricked the feeder.
