Really warm!

First I saw a robin, then a flock of cedar waxwings arrived.  Juncos foraged under the feeders and a downy woodpecker got suet despite starlings.  A few buffleheads and hoodies were on the creek while herons and pelicans flew overhead.

At lunch time a cormorant struggled with a big fish.  The bird drifted out of sight so I don't know the end of the story.  The temperature reached at least 80°F. It missed the record by one degree.

Toward evening the sky grew cloudy.  Sunset lit bars of cloud orange, then rose, then smoke.
