Sunny

The sky was blue with smudgy white clouds and morning was warm with only light air movement.  Pelicans were up early and busy fishing.  I saw a couple of hoodies and buffleheads as well.  Starlings continued to eat up my suet and only the downy woodpecker joined them.  The warbler scared a titmouse so badly it crashed into the window and had to sit quietly on the table to get its wind back.

Two pairs of cardinals continued their territorial dispute.  The two wrens continued to poke into everything.  A white throat and a blue jay lurked around the yard shrubbery.  A dove and some juncos foraged.  And a wasp was out flying in the sun!

In the afternoon I saw ospreys fishing the freshwater above the dam instead of the tidal creek below.  A couple of hours later, a pair of wood ducks and a pair of mallards worked along the bank at low tide.  The wood ducks disappeared upstream.  About an hour after that two female hoodies came dabbling along near the bank.
