The nasty weather brought lots of birds, including some I haven't seen recently, like titmice and a pine warbler! A blue jay moved around the edge of the yard. Carolina wrens and both red bellied and downy woodpeckers worked on the suet while the warbler sulked. White throats and juncos mostly stuck to the ground, along with doves. Cardinals and house finches added spots of red to the overall gray. A hopeful squirrel continued pursuit of his ladylove though she wasn't interested. A pelican flew downstream but there wasn't much activity on the creek. The low light and rain streaks on the glass did not improve my photography.
When I got home, a male towhee was whistling in the bush by the garage. A chickadee was in the bush too. In the back yard, a dozen starlings demolished the suet. Pelicans plunged on the creek and a male hoodie struggled to swallow a fish. The pelicans stayed busy through lunch but I guess the fish were too big for other birds. A flock of robins descended after the starlings left. A couple of herons flew downstream.
