The blue sky at breakfast was overcast by lunch. I glimpsed a chickadee! Two male cardinals glared at each other and two pairs of house finches fussed. The squirrel aerialist was swinging through the twigs. Downy and the female red bellied woodpeckers came for suet, as did a persistent starling, and of course the warbler. Juncos were joined by white throated sparrows on the ground.
Down by the dam outfall, an egret, and later, ducks fished. The ducks were mostly buffleheads but a male hoodie and a pair of mallards showed up in a fuzzy photo.
At lunch, a downy and the warbler were in evidence. The red bellied woodpecker came back mid afternoon. The Carolina wren finally showed up, along with doves. Buffleheads fished by the dock. One got goosed by a cormorant. And there were geese.
