Gray

A goldfinch and a hummer joined the regulars at breakfast.  A couple of doves foraged in the mulch.  Just before lunch a little green heron paused on the dock.  I did not know they had a crest they could raise.  The tide was new moon high.

Bumblebees and a golden digger wasp were about the only insects flying.  The wasp was enjoying the mint.  I did glimpse a tiger swallowtail.

At lunch the goldfinch pair wanted seeds and water from the hummer feeder.  The hummer wanted them gone.  A blue jay watched from the oak.  A downy woodpecker and a titmouse also came for seeds.
