Gray sky and a brisk wind put most bugs under cover. Hummers and blue jays, courtin' cardinals and chickadees were about all I saw. I think a wren flashed past and an egret monitored the dam outflow. There were buds on the chaste tree. Rain finally began to fall about 5pm. I saw the juvenile cardinal looking for a handout, but it saw me.
