Lull

Sunny and quiet.  The morning clouds lined up in rows.  The downy woodpeckers continued to work on the suet.  Lots of bees and wasps were active in the afternoon.  Turtles dried on the lake log.  I saw a heron fly downstream.  It seems to be the slack time when the winter migrants have disappeared but the summer migrants haven't arrived.  And the year around residents are busy with nests.
