Everything was wet when I got up so there must have been rain overnight. White throats foraged in the wet. A male cardinal drove them off the feeder. I saw dragonflies and butterflies while it was still sunny and hot. 
During a very late lunch, the female hummingbird came back. Swallowtail caterpillars were visible on the rue which had begun to bloom. The temperature slid down all day till we were back to Spring.After hours of overcast, a thunderstorm began in the late afternoon. The female downy woodpecker paid no attention to the rain as it attempted to find morsels of suet on the empty cage.
