The afternoon brought two doves, a wren, two female goldfinches, and a titmouse in addition to the regulars. This cardinal and finch were each pretending it wasn't their fault the feeder closed. There was a lull in the rain, but the weather put a damper on the bees and wasps as well as dragonflies and butterflies. Caterpillars were still chomping on the mangled remains of the parsley.
