When I got up, it was so humid, it was hard for my lungs to find the oxygen molecules in the water vapor. The windows were too fogged for photos but I made out a female goldfinch, a Carolina wren, and a titmouse, along with the regulars.
In the afternoon, a dragonfly used one of the perches. A crow panted up in the pines. An egret paused on the dock. A spider and a wooly caterpillar were drowned on the pool steps. I fished out several spiders including a mama, many beetles, a few wasps and a honeybee, a big bird grasshopper, and a frog. K took pictures of the grasshopper and the frog as I had my hands full.
Dark clouds threatened but the thunder was just a bluff. A few drops fell and that was all.
